Meet Mickey Walker

I was born in Augusta, Georgia, the son of a Baptist Minister and grew up in North Augusta, SC where I attended high school. I then attended North Greenville in Tigerville, SC outside of Greenville, and from there to Lander College in Greenwood, SC.

After college, I began a career in the golf business as an Assistant Golf Professional at Hilton Head Island, SC, where I met my wife of 25 years now. I moved to North Carolina in the early 1980’s and became a member of the PGA of America as a Head Golf Professional. I spent 20 years as a PGA Professional.

In January, 2000, I became a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer in North Carolina. I worked in Raleigh for five and a half years and recently relocated to Zebulon, NC as a Certified Mortgage Planner with Cornerstone Mortgage, a mortgage branch of the Cornerstone Bank in Wilson, NC.  I have lived in Zebulon, NC for 25 years with my wife Kim, who teaches Kindergarten at East Wake Academy in Zebulon, NC and our three children: Britney, who is a RN at Georgetown University Hospital in Medical ICU; my older son Charlie, is a Sophomore at East Carolina University majoring in Industrial Technology.; and my younger son Clay, is a sixth grader who plays football, baseball and soccer.

I enjoy watching my younger son in his sports and spending time with my family and going to the beach whenever I can.

I enjoy the Mortgage Business and being a part of the transaction for people, in most cases making the largest investment in their life.
